We have a firm committment to protect the private details of all users of, and subscribers to, The Magic of Scotland.  In return we pledge to provide top quality service and products.

Private Details

We keep entirely private the information required from our users and members.  We undertake not to divulge this information to any third party.  Personal details such as name, email, home address, etc., will never be shared with any individual or business.

Cookies

Each time a member logs into The Magic of Scotland our strategy is to retain a temporary "cookie" in the browser files of that member's computer.  In order to facilitate access to the Members Area, the cookie is used, thus enabling the member re-entry without continued repeated use of username and password.  Logging off or leaving the website automatically negates the cookie file.

External Links

Our aim is to give members of The Magic of Scotland the highest possible value for their subscriptions.  To this end, some of our pages may include links to associated websites.  Under no circumstances will members' information or "cookies" be passed on to third party websites.  A note of caution...it is in the interest of many websites to obtain information from browsers.  Please be aware that once you leave our website we are unable to notify you in the event of this happening.

Private Forums

Part of our service includes a multi-threaded discussion forum to enable members to share knowledge and information.  To ensure your privacy, we do not require personal or email details when posting or replying to messages on the forum.  Members are asked to take care in the disclosure of personal information given that other members have access to this information.

Choice/Opt-In

When you visit The Magic of Scotland you will be given the chance to receive communications from us.  Our policy ensures that your email address will not be given or sold to any other party.  You may also remove your information from our database so that the communications from us will cease.  Only information of the type that you've specifically requested will ever be sent to you.

Purchasing

Online shopping with us is perfectly safe.  We use the services of PayPal for all store transactions.  Safeguarding your financial and personal information is paramount and that’s why all sensitive information sent between your computer and their servers is automatically encrypted.  At no point will anyone at The Magic of Scotland see your card details while processing an online transaction.  All in-transit information is protected by SSL with an encryption key length of 128 bits (the highest level commercially available).  Your personal information is stored on PayPal's servers and heavily guarded both physically and electronically.  To further shield your card details, they do not directly connect their firewall-protected servers to the Internet.  The Magic of Scotland do not store customers' credit or debit card details, nor will we ever do so.

Please do not, under any circumstances, place an order by email as this is not a secure means of data transmission.  We can accept no responsibility for losses incurred in this way.
